Just few weeks after CSP Aniete Eyo, former B. Division (DPO) Warri left, criminals who went away for hide out in other communities came back in full force, as they kept on operating both night and day.
There had never been any day men and women, children of Warri don’t cry due to criminal activities. The recent one got the people of Okumagba Avenue more angry that mob had to set one ablaze before the arrival of police.
While setting the suspect ablaze, they were all shouting ‘Calabar man should return back to Warri for our safety. Government please help us.’
The angry mob took the action at about 7pm on Tuesday at the popular Okumagba Estate in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, AUTHENTIC News Daily can report.
It was learnt that two other members of the criminal gang were also arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force”B” Division as one other managed to escape.
The four-man suspected robbery gang were said to have shot sporadically into the air in an attempt to rob and cart away a tricycle from its operator.
It was gathered that the tricycle operator raised alarm attracting other tricycle operators as well as passersby who gave the suspects a chase.
The process, one of them was apprehend and set ablazed before the arrival of the Police at the scene.
After further combing of the area, the Police also arrested the other two suspects who are cooling off their heels in detention.
The Divisional Police Officer”B” Division, SP Ebi Orubiri declined comments on the matter as he referred our correspondent to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report in a chat with AUTHENTIC News Daily
According to CP Mustafa, “It is confirmed. They were caught trying to rob a keke. One escaped, two were arrested and one was set ablazed.”
