Ahead of the 2019 general elections, staff of Uvwie Local Government Council on Monday declared support for the second tenure of the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa over the payment of backlog is salaries owed them in the state.
The Head of Personnel Management,HPM, Uvwie Local Government Council, Mr.Macaulay Ukutsemuya made the declaration on behalf of the Council Staff at an enlarged meeting with the Council Chairman, Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake.
Ukutsemuya who spoke shortly after the Council Chairman break the news that their salaries will be paid soon appreciated Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for gesture.
According to Ukutsemuya,” The Council Staff will support the second term bid of Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa. To whom much is given, much is expected”.
The Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Comrade Akpos Erisueena aligned himself with the position of the HPM
Erisueen noted that the Council has been witnessing good things since the emergence of the Chairman, Hon.Ramson Tega Onoyake.
Erisueena however pleaded that the Council boss should favorably consider the payment of impress.
The jubilant Council Staff chanted solidarity songs thanking God and Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa in Uvwie dialect of Urhobo language and phrases thus;”We Nor Go tire, Okowa Race, Okowa Go Come Again”amongst others.
Earlier in a remark, the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Onoyake brojer the cheering news of the payment of salaries owed the Council Staff across by Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
Hon. Onoyake charged the Council Staff to be seriuos with their works as well as always be prayerful for better days in the Council.
He also enjoined the Staff to show appreciation to Governor Okowa for the gesture in order for him to do more for them.
Hon. Onoyake further promised to provide color television sets to four offices in the council in addition to rice to the CounciOkowaff during Christmas celebration.
Only recently, the Delta State Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa released the sum of five billion naira for payment of salaries of Council Workers across the State.
