In view of increasing interest from schools willing to  participate in the maiden edition of the maiden edition of Kaduna SWAN All Secondary Schools Indoor Sports Competition, organisers have announced postponement of the event.
A statement jointly signed by Jacob Onjewu Dickson and Abdulwaheed Adubi, chairman and secretary of the committee respectively informed that the move was to ensure more schools were accommodated in the event earlier billed for September 28 and 29.
“We are happy that many more schools have indicated interest to participate. The chairman and secretary of the committee’s phones were alive with calls from several schools indicating interest and pleading to be given a chance to participate.
” Hence, the committee summoned an emergency meeting and agreed to shift the two-day competition to another time, with possibility of extending it to three or more days,” it stated.
The organisers however, apologised to all who were prepared to attend to bear with them, while assuring that a befitting date would be communicated to them in due course as soon as possible.
The competition, a brain child of the Kaduna SWAN is expected to serve as a grassroots talent hunt.
It is to feature secondary school students, not above the age of 18.
