Former Commissioner, Balarabe Picks Giwa/Birnin Gwari APC Reps Ticket

    A former commissioner, Shehu Balarabe has emerged the flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  after trouncing four opponents in the party’s primaries for the Giwa/Birnin Gwari House of
    He scored 382 out of the 680 available votes.
    His closest opponent, Adamu Aliyu (Mai Gwaiba) polled 115 to finish as runner-up.
    Nuhu Abubakar Shehu (Sardauna) scored 58 votes to settle for the third position.
    On the fourth spot, Ali Abdu Ali, gathered 55 votes, just three less than the third position.
    Trailing behind on the fifth position, is Abdullahi Ibrahim (Barrister), who secured votes from 47 delegates.
    With few delegates making errors, only 23 invalid ballots were recorded from the exercise.
    It was adjudged the most peaceful, free and fair elections because all the contestants are from the same Giwa Local Government area, since it is their time to produce a representative.
