In its effort to ensure leaders and members strictly adhere to the union’s constitution, the Executive Committee, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council, has dissolved the NTA Chapel leadership with immediate effect.
A statement signed by Council’s Secretary, Dauda Idris Doka, made this known.
“The decision was necessitated following the expiration of the Chapel leadership tenure since August, 2018 and their failure to conduct election, which contradicts Article 6 section1 sub-section of NUJ constitution,” it stated.
It explained that based on this development, the Council will hold a meeting with the members of the chapel to discuss the way forward.
The Council leadership, however assured all chapels in the state of it’s commitment to ensure that the union’s constitution is strictly adhered to for the development of journalism in the state and the country in general.
