The national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has said that for several reasons, the Kaduna State Council of the union remains very important to the union.
Zonal Secretary, Zone A, North West, Abdullahi Izma Yamadi expressed this in a remark at the congress/ valedictory session for outgoing executives of the council, at its secretariat in Kaduna on Saturday December 15, 2018.
“The Kaduna State Council is very important to the North West Zone and the NUJ. There are a a lot of things happening in this council that make us proud to associate with it.
“Haven concluded a peaceful election, I want to commend you. Kaduna Council is also one of the most peaceful council’s in the country, a factor attributed to the commitment of the Executive members,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that they have learnt the council has carried out a lot of developmental programmes on behalf of the members and council.
“I urge you to extend same hands of friendship to the incoming excos so that you can all benefit from laudable programmes,” he said.
The outgoing Secretary of the council, Dauda Idris Doka read the minutes if the last meeting and that signalled his last official function as secretary of the council.
In attendance at the congress included the Vice President North West NUJ, Comrade Yusuf Idris.
