    Multi Million Naira Zango Friday Mosque

    Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State on Friday, performed the official commissioning of the multi million Naira Zango Friday mosque in Karaye, headquarters of the local government, constructed by the state government.

    According to a statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity,
    Government House, Kano, Ameen K. Yassar, the first Friday prayer was performed by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi and attended by thousands of Muslims from across the local government headquarters.

    Speaking shortly after the prayer, Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje explained that the project was constructed to afford the teeming Muslims population wider opportunity to observe their religious obligations without hindrance.

    “This is a very important project for this community because of the place of mosques as places of worship, centers of learning Islamic education and places of civic engagement among others”.

    “I urge to you to make good use of it and also implore you to pay attention to religious education so that you can worship Allah appropriately. I also want to appeal to you to live peacefully and to engage in activities that will promote and social cohesion”.

    In his remarks, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, enjoined people in the area to take good care of the mosque and to fear Allah in their undertakings.

    The Emir, who quoted copiously from the Qur’an and sayings of Prophet Muhammad stressed: “You should avoid anything that would cause chaos our loss of human life. You should shun, envy, hatred and wickedness. You should be your brothers’ keepers so that you can prosper”.

    Speaking on behalf of people of the local government, the immediate past chairman of the local government, who is now a Special Adviser to the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye expressed appreciation to Governor Ganduje and assured of continued support to the administration.

    “The fact that you visited our local government thrice within two weeks, to commission or inspect projects demonstrates your love for us. We are overwhelmed, we shall reciprocate”.
