Zamfara PDP, APGA, APDA Candidates React To Postponement Of Elections

    Mixed reactions have trailed the INEC postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections, as Zamfara PDP Governorship Candidate, Alhaji Bello Matawalle urged stakeholder to be cautious in the assessment of the  election postponement.

    In his reaction, Matawalle said, though, this was not the first election was postponed during national elections.

    PDP Governorship candidate however, advised INEC to be just and fair in their bid to have free and fair election in the future.

    “We are taking this postponement in good faith, as it was not the first time to happen in the country, but cautioned INEC to resolute in the conduct of free and fair election”, he added.

    Also, APDA governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Sani Takori said the development was not new in the politics of Nigeria, adding that it was a welcome development.

    According to him, one week is not enough for the INEC is supposed to be two weeks.

    APGA Governorship candidate, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi wondered why INEC would postponed election upon it’s repeated assurances of good planing.

    ” It is quite unfortunate, upon all the budget requirements met by the federal government to the commission,  yet they postponed the conduct of the election “, he added.

    Shinkafi called for the rejection of the postponement in all its totality.

    In his contribution An astute politician Alhaji Shehu Idris Ataka described the postponement as something usual and called for the electorate to exercise patience and be law abiding citizens.

    The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC,  Dr. Asmau Sani though, the postponement was not expected but had to be done due to some problems associated with logistics.

    She expressed optimism that, within one week of the extension all necessary sensitive material would be delivered to the state.  ENDs
