Founder and chairman of Deservation.Org/Project774forAtiku2019, Dr. Sani Adamu Bello has threatened to sue the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar for breach of trust and violating the trust reposed on him by millions of Nigerians should he reverse his earlier decision to go to court and reclaim the mandate freely given to him by millions of Nigerian voters in the February 16, 2019.
Dr. Adamu was reacting to the visit of the Abdulsalami led peace committee which is putting pressure on Atiku to accept the result of the presidential poll and concede defeat to the winner of the election Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him,” 1999 ushered in democracy with Olusegun Obasanjo being elected as president, in 2003, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankaso who was the Governor of Kano then was beaten by a political neophyte Ibrahim Shekarau. In the same way that year, Mala Kachalla was removed by Senator Modu Sheriff as Borno State Governor.”
”Again, when we go back to 2007, the court removed Celestine Omehia and made Rotimi Amaechi the Governor of Rivers State. After his impeachment from February 9, 2007 to 29, May 2007,the court averred that the impeachment of Peter Obi was illegal and so he reverted back to his governorship seat. In the same year, a court ruled that Obi be allowed to complete his four years as governor.”
“As our democracy progresses, the incumbent president was defeated by the opposition candidate and so, President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP handed over to Muhammed Buhari in 2015 after his defeat by All Progressives Congress candidate Buhari.’
He further said that in 2019, Atiku clearly won the election but was denied by the INEC and the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said that those asking Atiku not to go to court are not doing Nigerians any favour as over 14 million Nigerians who voted him will be disenchanted and the boundaries of democracy limited.
“I have been mandated by my organization to give a one week ultimatum the president elect to go and reclaim the mandate freely given to him or we will take legal action against him,” he concluded.
