Leadership of 40 political parties in Zamfara State have passed a vote of confidence on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agents on the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Briefing newsmen after reviewing the presidential election at a meeting of the leadership of the 40 of 46 parties in the state, Alhaji Shehu Hussaini said the election was free and fair.
Hussaini who is also, state chairman of Hope Democratic Party (HDP), explained that, voters were allowed freely to vote as there was no acrimony.
According to him, after careful review of the performance of INEC and security agencies, leadership of concern political parties have gave pass mark to them, considering the situation in state.
He lauded courage of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state Dr, Asma’u Sani Maikud, for her dedication and transparency.
“At least 40 of us, active political parties in Zamfara state have met to review the last Saturday 23 presidential and national assembly elections as the most peaceful and transparent”, he added.
He urged members of the political parties to live up to the expectations and preach peace and harmony in the next Saturday Governorship and state Assembly election in the state.
He advised political parties to always avoid any thing that would endanger our nascent democracy,” let us be sincere to ourselves,our affairs and intermingling with other people should be free,fair and understandable”.
