*8 vehicles smashed, shop windows broken

Days to the gubernatorial polls, Soldiers dispatched to quell the fracas were prompt to arrive the scene and prevented political clashes from degenerating into a bigger crisis on Wednesday in Kaduna metropolis.
It was gathered however, that before they arrived, no fewer than eight cars had their windscreens shattered while three other cars were smashed and a couple of shops were had their windows smashed too.
The incidences happened along along Sokoto Road, Air force Road and Bustop in Kakuri, a suburb in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna metropolis.
According to eyewitnesses, supporters of Honorable Yusuf Liman, incumbent member of the State House of Assembly, representing Makera, Kaduna South, were campaigning in a carnival like process when some irate youths turned violent and started smashing cars and tearing down posters of political opponents.
As of the time of filing this report, shops around Airforce Bus Top, Bus Stop, Sokoto Road remained closed while residents were seen hurriedly fleeing to safety.
Also the presence of anti riot police was witnessed on the streets at Sokoto Road and Air fpForce Road and the the Civilian JTF patrolling streets in Kakuri.
Similarly, the supporters of Liman were seen regrouping around st Galadimawa Street and heading towards Airforce Road.
They were dressed in yellow T-shirts with pictures of President Buhari and Liman boldly engraved on them.
Witnesses said they saw hoodlums armed with swords, daggers and cudgels during the fracas.
