A coalition of Accredited Domestic Election Observers for the Governorship/Assembly election Zamfa State has given a pass mark to INEC officials and security agencies for conducting what it described as a peaceful, Free and fair elections across the state.
A statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State capital signed by five team leaders, Engr. M.A.E Hashidu, Dr. Prince Isaac Onyike, Dr. Khalifa M. Aljameel, Barr. Folashade B. Dasaolu and Miss Sakina Mukhtar said the Saturday, March 9 election was peaceful.
According to them, through out the 14 local government areas, 147 and 2,516 polling units voting took place successfully.
“We have acknowledge that, governorship/assembly election was peaceful across the state, only, two registration areas in Shinkafi local government election was rescheduled and took place on Sunday 10th March”, The statement added.
The coalition observed that INEC despatched all necessary and sensitive elections materials to all the registered wards and polling units across the state in good time.
They also expressed their satisfaction with the way how electorates turn out enmass to cast their votes during the election in the state, describing it as overwhelming and commendable.
The coalition therefore, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the security agents, particularly Police, Army and NSCDC for intensifying security to ensure election has been conducted peacefully without any rancor.
However, the coalition commended federal and state government for their non interference, international and domestic observers for their selfless sacrifices as well as people of the state for their roles in ensuring hitch free election in Zamfara state. ENDs
