Resign Or Face Mass Protest, CDHR Tells Delta CJ, One Other


    Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Delta State Chapter on Friday asked the Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Mukoro and the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development,Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams to resign from Office within seven days or be ready to face mass protest by us.
    The CDHR said they made the call over a case of “Manifest”Child trafficking and illegal adoption being perpetuated by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development.
    The CHDR handed down the 7days ultimatum during press conference at the Nigeria Union of journalist NUJ Warri correspondent chapel,  Secretariat.
    The CDHR is demanding that the CJ and the Women Commissioner, Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams must account for the missing 50 Family Courts as well as 104 assessors constituted prior to 2013 as announced by the then Delta Women Affairs Commissioner, Chief (Mrs.) Betty Efekhoda.
    The CDHR also demanding for the confiscation of all adoption forms meant for sale and sold by Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams and the sales of adoption inuding amounts to child trafficking and illegal adoption.
    “We demand for the accounts analysis of all adoption form sold by Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams.
    “We demand for the immediate sealing off of all registered and unregistered orphanages in Delta State with the affected children taken into DSS custody.
    ” We demand for a comprehensive investigation of the Delta State Chief Judge,Justice Marshal Mukoro by DSS as it relates to child trafficking/illegal adoption in the State.
    “We we demand for the immediate rescue of all children sold by Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams and the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs from 2008 till date.
    The CDHR led by its Chairman, Comrade(Dr.) Kehindd Prince-Taiga said Women Commissioner had unlawfully stole and named children as orphans.
    The Human Rights Group added that the Women Commissioner,” Unlawfully detained these children in any orphanage of their choice, unlawfully release these said children to child thieves/traffickers for three consecutive months who unlawfully parade themselves as adopters.
    The CDHR said,”the Commissioner criminally connived with the Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Mukoro to unlawfully obtain an adoption Order from any Magistrate Court of their choice in Delta State to conceal the crime of child trafficking/illegal adoption in gross violation of the Delta State Child Rights law.”
    The CDHR said under the watch of the CJ and Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams,50 Family Courts as well as 104 assessors amongst others were missing in the State.
    “Over seventy orphanages with hundreds of children are still missing under the care and control of the Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Rev.(Mrs.) Omatsola Williams during the pendency of the ongoing investigation by the Department of State Security, DSS with no provision to seal off the orphanages in order to protect lives of children affected in the criminal act.
    The CDHR also said the DSS investigation is at the detriment of children.
    It stressed that,”Since there has been no arrests and measures by DSS to curtail this ugly situation even with the overwhelming evidence tendered before it.
    The CDHR urged President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Judicial Council, NJC and the Department of State Security, DSS to order the immediately arrest and prosecution of the Chief Judge of Delta State for conceding to an allegation of child trafficking and adoption at the DSS Office, Asaba saying,”He(CJ) is not above the law.”
