The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, Reverend John Hayab has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate in the state for the 2019 elections, Honourable Sunday Marshal Katung chose the best way to celebrate his birthday by associating with and donating to internally displaced persons (IDPs).
He expressed this in his remarks on Monday April 1, 2019, when Honourable Sunday Marshal Katung donated several items worth millions of Naira to Kajuru IDPs at the Adara Town Hall in Kaduna metropolis.
“The best way to celebrate is to show love to those in need. Our desire is that these children should grow in a good environment devoid of such violence,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that he joins the IDPs in congratulating the celebrant.
“We wish him many more years. An occasion like this reminds us that there is always a humble beginning. Some of us had humble beginnings.
“As many of us that are privileged, please contribute your quota to ensure this violence ends” he said.
To the IDPs he said the three weeks they had spent at the camp must have been filled with reflection and several lessons.
“I think these three weeks they are staying here, the lessons they are receiving may be more than what they have ever learnt,” he added.
The CAN Chairman disclosed that several support has been pouring in for the IDPs.
“We have been getting support, this morning we got support of bags of rice, which would be distributed to all the camps,” he added.
He thanked all those that have contributed to make living conditions not the IDPs more bearable, while praying for God to bless them and replenish their purses in hundred folds.
In his remarks, the Chairman Adara Development Association, Kaduna branch, Gambo Auta blessed Honourable Katung.
“On behalf of the IDPs, they pray he fulfills his destiny. The step you took to this place to identify with us, we pray God blesses you abundantly,” he added.
