Zamfara Recruits Additional 1,700 Civilian JTF

    Zamfara State Government is set to recruit additional 1700 civilian JTF to support security agents.

    Speaking during a security meeting with Emirs, leaders of Fulani, commissioner of police and local government council chairmen in Gusau, commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Bello Dankande who disclosed this said the decision was to have enough manpower to face the bandits.

    He revealed that state government has now decided to recruit 100 JTF in each emirate.

    He called on Fulani leaders( Miyyeti Allah) to further warned their children,wards against banditry activities for peace to reign added that government would not hesitate to take a very aggressive measure that would not go well with fulani families who sale and buy in towns and cities.

    The commissioner for local government further stated that henceforth, all petrol filing stations would be monitor by civilian joint task force(JTF) to avoid selling petroleum product to bandits in the state.

    Dankande said the decision to deploy Civilian JTF to petrol station was to further block all avenues that would led to the provision of social amenities to armed bandits in their den across the state.

    In his addressed, the state commissioner of police Mr. Celestine Okoye has pledge to do his best to achieve peace, adding that fighting the activities of armed bandits is everyone business, its need collaboration from all.

    He revealed that zamfara state is one of the richest place that was endowed with abandoned minerals deposits,” we are sitting on minerals deposits, without peace we can not harness them,we must live together for peace to reign”, he warned.

    The police commissioner further appealed to Royal fathers in the state to handle security issues with caution.
