CJ Releases 27yrs old, Prison Inmate Jailed For Allegedly Stealing Banana In Delta

    The Chief Judge of Delta State Justice Mukoro has released from the Nigerian Prisons Service, a twenty seven (27) years old man, Woti Federal who was incarcerated for allegedly stealing two bunches of banana estimated at seven thousand (#7,000) naira in Bomadi Area of the State.
    The inmate had been in Warri Prison since January 7, 2019 over the offense of stealing Banana.
    The Delta State Chief Judge (CJ) ordered the release of Mr Woti Federal when he visited the prison in Warri today.
    Before the order that the inmate be released, CJ Mukoro opined that should the matter be allowed to go in the Court,” it will make mockery of the Criminal Justice System.”
    He argued that, “There are people who stole billions and are walking freely”
    Justice Mukoro thereafter threw the matter opened before the Nigerian Bar Association,NBA, the Nigeria Police Force, Department of Public Prosecution,DPP and other lawyers present at the prison yard.
    A representative of the NBA in Warri, Mr. Michael Asugo Esq and DSP Irabor of the legal Department of the Nigeria Police Force,Area Command in Warri pleaded that the inmate be released.
    Promptly, Justice Mukoro ordered the release of the inmate from prison custody with a stern warning not to commit crimes again.
