UNBELIEVABLE! Phone Theft Increases In Delta Communities As 3,000 Victims Besiege Ebrumede Police Station


     *Delta Judge’s Phone recovered, 27-yr old suspect arrested

    Phone theft has increased in Warri and its environs as over three thousand victims who were allegedly robbed and dispossessed of their mobile phones on Monday besieged the Ebrumede Police Divisional Headquarters for help.

    The victims were from Udu, Jeddo, Ubeji, Warri, Aladja, Ubogo, and other Communities, AUTHENTIC News Daily.

    It was gathered that the Police have successfully recovered two hundred and twenty three(243) mobile phones and handed them over to their owners including that of one Mr. Samson James, a medical doctor with the Nigerian Navy.
    Mr. Samson James’s wife was allegedly robbed at gun point by suspected armed robbers who carted away her “Infinite Smart Phone”, unspecified amount of money and other valuables three days ago in Warri.

    However, luck ran out of one of the suspects, Ogheneovo Omonefe who was tracked by high powered technology by Officers and men of the Ebrumede Police Division in alliance with ” Abuja Factor” and it led to his arrests.

    The suspect Ogheneovo Omonefe on his part, denied that he robbed the phone from the victim.

    The twenty seven (27) year old suspect insisted that he bought the phone for twelve thousand naira(N12,000) from a friend simply identified as Abraham at Hausa Quarters in Warri.

    The Naval Personnel whose wife was allegedly robbed, Mr. Samson James said he must get approval from his Superiors before he could grant any interview to the press.

    He said if the Navy has to do that, it means the boy (suspect) would be sent to prison.

    James said, “If I have to do that, first I have to incident the matter at the base. We need to take him (suspect) to our base, interview him and hand him over to the Police again.

    “I will be at the Station tomorrow to see the DPO. Let’s see there and if there is any need for it, I will let you know.”

    It was learnt that the Ebrumede Police Divisional Officer, CSP Anieteh Eyoh with Officers and men of the “Anti-Phone theft Unit” newly set up at the Station also recovered the mobile phone of the Judge of the Delta State High Court,3 in Warri, Hon. Justice Onojohwo.

    AUTHENTIC News Daily can report that Hon. Justice Onojohwo was attacked, robbed and beaten to stupor by suspected armed robbers at his residence recently.

    It was learnt that the phone was recovered within thirty (30) working days by the Police with a high powered technology.

    The Ebrumede Divisional Police Officer,CSP Anieteh Eyoh declined comments on the matter.

    A source who craved anonymity said the the DPO visited the High Court Judge wherein he promised to recover his mobile phone for him within aforementioned days.

    Promptly,the DPO with Officers and men of the “Anti-Phone theft Unit”swung into action and recovered the phone with the arrests of some suspects who were charged to Court in the process.

    The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke in a telephone chat on Sunday afternoon said,” It seems so but I have not been able to get details.”
