Delta: Police Gun Down Suspected Armed Robber, Recover Arms

    Officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force from the Ebrumede Divisional Headquarters in Uvwie Local Government Area on routine patrol have gunned down a suspected armed robber along the Osubi/Abraka expressroad in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.


    The Police also recovered two locally made guns from the suspect during the operation.


    It was learnt that one of the suspected armed robbers abandoned their motorcycle and escaped from the scene of crime, AUTHENTIC News Daily can report.


    The suspected armed robbers who were suspected to be two in number in a commercial motorcycle allegedly robbed unsuspecting public along the road.


    The suspected armed robbers allegedly opened fire when they sighted Police.


    Police repelled the attacks and in the process, one of the suspects sustained serious gunshot injuries.


    The injured suspect however, died on his way as he was being rushed to the hospital by the policemen.
    AUTHENTIC News Daily had it that his corpse has also been deposited in the morgue.


    Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police,CP Adeyinka Adeleke in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent said,”I got the signal. However, go to the DPO, tell him to give you the details.”
