It would be recalled that the Acting IGP on Friday April 5 launched “Operation Puff Adder” at Katari Bishin District, Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

The operation is tailored towards tackling the emerging insecurity challenges with particular reference to kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and other crimes along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway and other parts of the country.

“It should also be understood that no police organization can succeed without the cooperation of the public it serves. Police professionalism has been described as keeping close to the public. The successes of a police force in the performance of its duties are largely measured by the degree of support and cooperation it receives from the people it serves.

” It is of Paramount importance to secure the confidence , respect and cooperation of the public through our performance, conducts and attitude towards the members of the public.

” Similarly, I wish to remind members of the public that the business of securing and keeping our society at peace is not that of security agents alone but everybody’s business.

” Apart from being law abiding citizens, it is our civic responsibilities to assist aw enforcement agents in the performance of their lawful duty.

“I therefore, call on the Vigilance groups and other Stakeholders , more especially the local authorities and all good people of Delta State to continue to support and assist the Police with useful intelligence and information on the criminals and their hideouts, so as to make this crime fighting project a success.
