Unguwar Gado, a suburb Community in Kaduna metropolis has reconstructed an abandoned culvert in an effort to address flood as the rain commences, a move which will serve as a positive example to other communities.

Commissioning the project at Malali under Kaduna North Local Government Area, the Chairman of the community, Mr. Jakada Joseph Dauda said reconstructing the culvert became necessary particularly to save the community from flood during this year’s raining season.

He explained that the culvert was connected to many busy roads in the community which was abandoned for years.

Mr. Jakada Joseph Dauda lamented that both PDP and APC governments pledged to reconstruct the culvert during campaign but all in vain.

He commended the community for their efforts towards the realisation of the project and urged them to continue to work for the development of the community.

Some of the members of the community interviewed thanked their leaders for their foresight and promised to contribute more towards reconstructing other culverts.

They appealed to the state government to come to their aid through reconstruction of drainages, culverts and roads that have been a threat to the society.

While interviewing some community members they showed their appreciation towards the project and promised to do all they can to contribute towards reconstructing some other culverts.
