Gbagyi youth in Kaduna State have donated relief items to victims of bandits attacks in the state.
Presenting the items to the affected persons, chairman of the Gbagyi Youth Progressive Union, Ayuba Maiwada said the donation became necessary considering the suffering the victims are passing through.
According to him, many were rendered homeless with all hopes almost lost.
“We feel it is important we extend a hand of love to our people who were lost their loved ones and properties during the attacks”
“The beneficiary’s were selected from the three most affected communities in Birnin Gwari, Kajuru and Chikun LGAs
On his part, president of the Gbagyi Development Union in Kaduna State, Peter Aboki said Gbagyi communities since 2015 have been affected by bandits attacks leading to the loss of lives and property worth millions of Naira, adding that two communities have fled their villages due to the increasing rates of kidnapping and armed banditry in the area.
“As we speak, even teachers teaching in public schools in the affected communities cannot remember when last they attended,” he said
The paramount ruler of the Gbagyi Chiefdom, His royal highness Danjuma S. Barde represented by the secretary of the Gbagyi Traditional Council, Usman Zamani commended the youth for the gesture, while calling on well meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of all victims of violent crisis in the country.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Emmanuel Saleh thanked the Gbagyi youth for the feature.
He further called on Kaduna State Government to intensify security in troubled areas especially during this farming season so they can go to farm.
Items donated to the victims includes mattresses, food items, clothing etc.
