After the execution of a total of 108 projects within his first year in office, the Chairman of Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Abubakar Buba has planned to do even more.
He expressed this, while speaking at a One-day Quarterly Budget Performance Review Town-Hall Meeting With Stakeholders, in Saminaka on Friday, June 28, 2019.
“I am excited to announce to you that over the past twelve months as a council we have invested on your behalf a total of 500 million Naira in 108 projects and programs that are at 98 per cent completion stage.
“We have focused more on the social sector because we belief that our people deserve quality education and healthcare,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that  infrastructure and agriculture are other critical areas they have not  neglected.
“Permit me to sound a bit immodest, Lere local government since its inception has not witnessed such monumental investment in development with evidence to show. Resources that hitherto use to go into private pockets are now being put to work for the people in the local government. The real reason why some are not happy with us!” He stressed.
He used the opportunity to inform  that they  have huge intentions and plans to transform the local government by ensuring value for money, quality service delivery and key target outcomes are achieved at the end of our tenure.
“Hence, we are totally committed to our plan to initiate a number of public-private partnerships that will bring in huge investments, generate thousands of jobs, reduce poverty and improve revenue generation in the local government.
“We are all about the people and in everything we are doing the people remain first; not just as target beneficiaries of what we do, but as equal partners in finding solutions to our developmental challenges,” he assured.
Buba further assured that the town hall meeting would hold quarterly.
“Once again, I welcome you all to this stakeholder’s town-hall meeting, which will now happen quarterly till the end of our tenure, and eagerly expect to hear your sincere constructive criticism and feedback on our performance so far. I assure you that we are ready to work on the lessons we will be learning here and adapt the applicable onces towards improving the quality of service delivery and uplifting the living standard of you our people.”
