Appointment: Delta NUJ Congratulates Patron Ahead Formal Inauguration

    Ahead of his formal inauguration, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated one of its patrons and two-time health commissioner in Delta State,  Chief Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, on his nomination and successful screening as the pioneer Chairman of the Warri, Effurun and its Environs Development Agency.


    The NUJ, in a release, said that the nomination was a reaffirmation of the capacity of Chief Otumara to deliver dutifully on assigned role and a reward for his dogged loyalty to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the last general elections.


    In the release signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and Secretary,  Comrade Churchill Oyowe, the union recalled the excellent pedigree of Chief Otumara as a successful medical practitioner who used his medical facility, Alpha May Clinic, to reach out to the poor in health.


    According to the union, Chief Otumara, the Obarisuwa of Warri Kingdom, foray into politics further empowered him to promote his welfarist principle which eventually earned him the first and only three-time chairman of a council in Nigeria.


    As the three-time Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, the council praised Chief Otumara for his feats as chairman in promoting ethnic harmony, health and social programmes as well as staff welfare.


    The council thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, for his recognition of excellence in Chief Otumara and wished the nominee success in the onerous task of giving Warri, Effurun and environs an enviable developmental facelift.
