Insecurity: I Came Into Nigeria Without Passport, Niger Republic Citizen Confesses

At a time when the level of insecurity seems very high in Nigeria, particularly in Delta State, a Citizen of Niger Republic simply identified as Umaru said he entered the Country (Nigeria) in search of “greener pastures” without the possession of either International Passport or Economic  Community of West African States, ECOWAS Passport.
Umaru, a commercial tricyclist in the heart of Warri made the assertion unknown to him that he was carrying and speaking with journalists in Warri.
Umaru who claimed to be thirty years of age said he entered Nigeria through the borders of Zamfara State stressing that he has stayed in the Country for the past fifteen years.
He said he had lived in Onitsha, Anambra State,  Port-Harcourt in Rivers State before he moved down to Warri Delta State.
Umaru said, “I come to find money.  in Niger, I can’t work and save money.  But here in Nigeria I work and save money very well.
Umaru who said he is a Muslim by religion also noted that he is a primary school dropout in his Country.
According to him, “The time my father was sending me to school I refused go, but now I have seen it that school is very good.it is Very painful to me now that i am not educated ”  
While noting that he loves Nigeria so much for its hospitality, Umaru said he had enjoyed various Nigerian delicacies like banga, Ogwuo-evwri soups with starch.
Umaru carried our correspondent and other journalists after they concluded assignments in one of the Courts at Mabiaku road in Warri to the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
The Nigeria Immigration Service as well as the Nigeria Customs Services needs to Police the Country’s border very well and ensure that those who have their particulars screened before granting them access to the country, government should check and reduce the level of insecurity in Our land.
