A coalition of civil society groups have made a passionate appeal to the President Muhammad Buhari-led Federal Government to in view of landmark successes recorded under his stewardship, reconfirm the appointment of Barrister Abdullahi Muktar as the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu
(Director General,Youth Reformation And Leadership Skills Development Foundation), Umar Uba (Coodinator Salvage Nigeria Forum) and Ahmad Mohammed Zagi (Coodinator Good Governance And Anti Corruption Advocacy Group), made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday November 20, 2019.

“We are calling on the Federal Government to reconfirm the appointment of Barrister Abdullahi Muktar to continue with the Reformation of the Commission,” it stated.

The coalition pointed out that the National Hajj Commission the Apex Organization saddled with the responsibility of Hajj activities in Nigeria is lucky to have Barrister Abdullahi Muktar, a  visionary leader with vast  records of good governance, integrity, transparency and accountability.

“Barrister Abdullahi since his appointment in 2015 had displayed high level of competency in all ramifications ,especially in the management of Commission’s  resources, Hajj activities and international diplomacy ,which has restored Nigeria’s lost National  glory on Hajj participation.

“Barrister Abdullahi is like a prototype of President Buhari who is allergic to corruption and mismanagement of public resource.

” He’s an advocate of due process, and therefore strictly applies  such in all administrative and financial dealings,” it stated.

The coalition further said that he has succeeded in salvaging the Commission’s image, the country, good Governance and the Anti corruption Campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Abdullahi’s  virtues, administrative abilities and leadership qualities that has put him on scale as a role model should be emulated by our youths,” it added.

They argued that considering the above and so many other innovations brought into the Commission by the gentleman, they are appealing to the Federal Government to reconsider his reappointment.
