Kaduna Residents Hail, Pray For Army As They Benefit Free Medical Services, Surgery

    Residents of Rigachikun Community and its environs in Igabi Local government Area of Kaduna State have heaped praises and offered prayers to their benefactors as they benefited from the free medical outreach by the Nigerian Nigerian Army (NA).

    Speaking at the opening ceremony of the programme held at the Malam Jalo LEA Primary School Rigachikun, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, ably represented by the Chief of Administration, Army headquarters Abuja, Major General Musa Yusuf told reporters that the Department of Civil Military Affairs organised it to win the hearts and minds of the populace.

    “It is part of the Chief of Army Staff’s concern for humanity.

    “We conduct medical outreaches to people for cases that can be handled here and those that cannot be handled, we move them to 1 Div and if it is above there, it will be moved to 44 Army Reference Hospital.

    “We call on the populace to be law abiding citizens and report any suspicious characters around them,” he charged.

    A beneficiary of the free medical outreach, Malam Shuaibu Madaki 60 years old from Rigachikun Community, who has been suffering from eye problem for long appreciated Nigerian Army for the gesture rendered to his community as he is not the only beneficiary. He explained that he was there with his family and they all benefited.

    Hajiya Rukayya Abubakar from Kantin Kwari in Rigachikun Community, who was suffering from fever and toothache but was promptly treated, healed praises on the Nigerian Army, praying that they would always triumph over insurgents, bandits and criminal elements.

    In his words, Auwal Aliyu from Badarawa Community, Kaduna North Local Government Area said, “I came to Rigachikun to benefit from this outreach and Alhamdullillah I am part of the beneficiaries. I am suffering from cataract and I have been referred to 1 Division Hospital at Kawo Kaduna to be operated for free. I am very happy for this outreach and if not because of the Nigerian Army, I will not have the means to sponsor the cataract operation.”

    Hajiya Talatu Sada from Rigachikun , 45 years old, whose tricycle has spoilt for a very long time and did not have the means to purchase another, said she has been facing a lot of stress throughout but today she received a brand new tricycle to ease her movement and also appreciated the Army and prayed for God’s protection and success to the Nigerian Army.

    The traditional ruler of Rigachikun, Alhaji Abubakar Jaarfar, thanked God and the Nigerian Army for providing the medical outreach and urged the community to support the security agencies by being law abiding and reporting suspicious characters.

    He said the medical outreach would bring relief to his people, adding that the initiative had also brought hope to many with serious health challenges.
