NDA Commandant Says Institution Has Contributed Immensely To Nigeria’s Development

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has contributed immensely to Nigeria’s socioeconomic development, through role of its graduates who have been ensuring peace and stability in the country.

The 29th Commandant of NDA, Major General Jamilu Sarham expressed this when Course 27 Rtd generals on Thursday visited their alma matter.

He stressed that NDA has produced men who have contributed immensely the nation, urging other courses to join the league.

“We at NDA we will do anything humanly possible to produce the best of the best,” he assured.

The Commandant said he was happy with the visit.

“I am privileged to meet with this noble men of my career which they made a very huge impact in my life and career.

“Let me congratulate you and thank God on your behalf on your 40th anniversary on your service to humanity and I wish you the very best in your lives.

“On behalf of NDA, I accept every presentation especially the visit. NDA can only be NDA if it upholds its culture and tradition,” he said.

Speaking earlier, led by their president, Rear admiral Samuel I Alade, the 27 regular course of NDA alumni association made a presentation to NDA to mark the 49th anniversary of 27 Course.

They had graduated on January 4, 1980 and at present, all members of 27 course are retired.

“We are making presentation of a giant trophy to the champion battalion to encourage the cadets and another for the best faculty to encourage the faculty to try harder to be the best as our little token to the academy and in future, depending on our capacity, we will be back to present something bigger,” he said.

The visitors expressed gratitude to the Commandant for receiving them despite his tight schedules.

“We have confidence that your tenure will take this institution to greater heights,” he added.
