The Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc has partnered Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kaduna Chapter to celebrate this year’s International Women Day calling on Women to be self reliant so as support their families.
A former Chairperson Nigeria NAWOJ, Mrs Jummai Yari made the call during a presentation at the International Women’s Day celebration organized by NAWOJ Kaduna State chapter.
Yari advised women journalists to learn different skills apart from the journalism profession saying that learning different skilled for better self esteem and greater future.
While speaking on the drug abuse epidemic in the society among women children and youths in the society, she called on parents to rise up to their responsibility by ensuring they monitor the kind of peer group the their children have relationship with.
On his part, Mr Andrew Fadason, a former chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council harped on the need for women to be peaceful
“Peace is a necessity to humanity, and in any aspect where peace is missing, all other facets of development are lost.“women should be engaged in peace promotion, building harmonious relations and mutual respect among the diverse communities in the country.
“This is necessary so that peace will overtake current crisis, wars and conflicts the world is experiencing today, ” he said.
The chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist Kaduna state council Adamu Yusuf commended the NAWOJ for organizing this programe .

Yusuf said the month of March is set aside for celebrating women as regards to their contribution for the Development of the of the country.
The chairperson kaduna chapter of NAWOJ Hajiya Fatima Aliyu said the state Nawoj is seeking collaboration with the 23 Local Government area of the state to empowere women with different skills that would benefit them in Kaduna.
