Oyo state government during the week declared a directive of dawn to dusk Curfew ( 7pm-6am) to residents in the state to curtail Coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to the people’s Democratic Party stalwart, Alhaji Abdulsam ad Abdulganiyu during the monitoring of the compliance level on April 1st 2020 in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan said, the people of Akinyele Local Government Area are really supportive of the Government directives by obeying the dawn to dusk timing of ( 7pm-6am) state government.

“However some of our people are not really complying to the directives with complaints that they don’t have any means of surviving the 14 days without coming to shops but I believe the two (2) honourables representing the constituencies in the state Assembly, Hon. Dicean Kehinde and Hon. Ayo Fatokun are both coming up with palliative measures in addition to the promised by His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, we pray to God to give him sound health.

The pandemic Coronavirus which is a global challenge is what we should collectively work against and not playing politics with it.

He also spoke on the broadcast of president Muhammadu Buhari which Abdulganiyu opined that, the federal government declared Ogun state because of it’s closeness to Lagos State as the most affected state in Nigeria but if we are to look at the statistics of persons affected in the is higher than that of Ogun state; Oyo state should also be considered by the federal government in the expected palliative measures for Lagos, Ogun state and the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja.

“I don’t believe in stay at home orders without palliative measures to Nigerian”.

Though, the state and local government chairmen are doing there best to educating and sharing protective measures like hand sanitizers and facemask.

In a related note, speaking to a residents who craved anonymous in Akingbile area of Moniya said, people don’t really believe in existence of this Coronavirus pandemic but I personally believe it is real taking all government directives.

Because, they believe is an elite virus and it resulted through the anger of God due to our sins. Government should intensify effort to sensitizing people at the grassroots at the community level.

All efforts to speak to the Chairman of Landlord Association of Akingbile Area was not fruitful as at the time of filing this report.

Speaking to a pedestrian in the area who also prefer anonymous advised the government to put in place stiffer measures to make people comply especially” Motorcycle riders who hardly obey government directives.

In a visit to the Divisional Police station at Moniya Ibadan to monitor the compliance level of the Nigerian police, handwashing basin filled with water and soap were seen in front of the station with controllable number of persons seen at the station.
