Kaduna Electric Felicitates With Workers On May Day

Kaduna Electric Corporate Head Office

The Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Engr. Garba Haruna, has extolled the sacrifices and commitment of Nigerian workers on the occasion of this year’s Workers Day celebration.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, the Managing Director said this year’s celebration is particularly poignant due to the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced workers not only in Nigeria but all over the world to endure very trying times.
He said Nigerian workers in critical sectors such as utilities, health, media, security services among others deserve special commendation for being in the front lines of not only fighting the pandemic but for working tirelessly to ensure other Nigerians stay safe during the full or partial lockdowns imposed in many states of the country.
Engr. Garba said Kaduna Electric has noted the dedication of its staff who have been on duty away from their loved ones in the service of the company and the country. He said their efforts will not go unrewarded.
The electricity company’s helmsman pledged that in addition to allowances to those staff who have been working during the lockdown, all staff of Kaduna Electric shall be provided with palliatives to help cushion the effects of restrictions imposed by government.
He said Kaduna Electric shall continue to look out for its workers and provide the enabling environment they need to give in their best and  perform at optimum level. He added that the company’s Management will continue to work closely with the two in-house Labour unions to sustain the harmonious relationship that currently exists.
He commended the leadership of both the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies and the Nigeria Union of Electricity Employees at the national and local levels for being partners in progress in growth of the power sector in the country.
