Monarch Approves Creation of 5 Autonomous Villages in Ebonyi Community

In an effort to end lingering leadership crises in Amuzu village of Igbeagu Autonomous Community, Izzi Local Government Area, Ebonyi State,the Traditional Ruler of the area, Eze Micheal Ogbonnaya Ukwa on Wednesday 29 April,2020 announced the approval of five new villages with their leaders.
It would be recalled that stakeholders from Amuzu village in Igbeagu autonomous community had through a letter as assigned by Elder Nwibo Elom, Mr.Clement Nwoba,Elder Nwanduku Nweze,and Comrade Emmanuel Nwedu unbehalf of the people requested for the splitting of the village into five autonomous villages.
Also, Amuzu village has been on long time Internal crises over who lead the village which prompted abandonment of their farmlands, destruction of property from the divides until recently when the case was withdrew from Court for Community settlement.
Addressing newsmen in his Palace, the Traditional Ruler Igbeagu autonomous community,Eze Michael Ogbonnaya Ukwa stated that after careful analyzing the request from the people of Amuzu alongside his cabinet members approved for the splitting of Amuzu village which according to him would bring permanent peace in the area.
In his words, ” After careful reading and analyzing the letter received from Amuzu village stakeholders by my cabinet members, we agreed to split the place into five villages as requested since the villages had been in serious Internal crises over leadership tussle that had caused alot of damages for over four years.
“So, instead of dividing the village into eight , the Cabinet advised we go by five because the five we observed met up the traditional demand of ipfaekwo as known by our people as criteria for becoming a village “.
“In the time past, an incident of similar one happened between Nchokor,TTC, Nduigboke,Nduebo-Nchokor, Nduoruta but I splitted it into five and that was how peace was restored in the villages.
” What I did was to ensure none of them that had held village position was re-appointed in any capacity especially those who were directly or indirectly involved in the Court case, and today they brought those they choose, and was confirmed by entire Igbeagu people.
“I am calling members of the villages to embrace peace by giving their full stop to all the appointed leaders of the various autonomous villages. We don’t want Court case again in Amuzu Igbeagu rather they should spend their money in training their children and not engaging in court cases. He further explained
In another development,The Traditional Ruler introduced the newly appointed community youth president , Mr. Emeka Ede, charging all village Heads to provide youth leaders of their respective villages as to help put an end to youth restiveness.
He pointed out that the role of youths in Community development cannot be overemphasized, noting that his Community abhors smoking of India hemp, Cultism and all sorts of social vices and warned that defaulters of such should be made to face the consequences.
Eze ukwa, noted that youth as the leaders of tomorrow should be carefully grew to follow Government directives revealing that a better society is build with right attitude and charged parents to always report cases of Cultism to the appropriate authority even if it involves their children.
He charged the youth Leaders to report to him any unsual behavior especially the smoke of India hemp, and cult activities, warning that he would not support action capable of ruining the community and good work of the state Governor,Engr. David Umahi.
The Traditional Ruler tasked village Heads to appoint youth Leader from their respective place as he would not entertain division among the youth body, assuring them of his support.
Similarly, the Eze’s in Council Igbeagu autonomous community confirmed the installation of Chief Nwori Okechukwu for Oguzoronwiya and Chief Chijioke Ogbuewu as village Head, Ndiechi Ndegu, and admonished them to ensure peace remains Paramount in their different places even as they maintain proactive in promoting programme and policies of the state government.
Speaking after his inauguration,Chief Ogbuewu commended his people for founding him worthy of the position and promised to carry everybody along while calling for more support to attract Government presence in the area.
Chief Ogbuewu further appreciated the Eze’s Cabinet, the Traditional Ruler and Chairman Ebonyi State Fiscal Responsibility Commission,Hon. Vincent Nwibo, for the their support in ensuring his peace appointment and appealed the state government to intervene in the electricity challenge facing his village.
Meanwhile, other activity of the day was the inauguration of the new autonomous village Heads by the Eze’s in Council among Chief Emmanuel Nwedu for Offia-Igbakpo Amuzu Igbeagu, Chief Jonathan Nwambam for Chukpukpabi Amuzu Igbeagu, Chief Ndubuisi Ukpa,as village Head Odeligbo Onoffia, Chief Joseph Ogama as village Head Azuda Omogodoke Amuzu village and Chief Franklin Nwome as the village Head Azoto Azungele Igbeagu.
Other Community Leaders inaugurated are Mr. Itumo Basil,Youth President Ndiechi Ndegu, Elder Ogbonnaya Oshigburu,Treasurer and Mbam Ojigeru, Chairman.
