Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has condoled his Sokoto State counterpart, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Matawallen Sokoto) over the loss of his father.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, Zailani Bappa, dated May 9, 2020.
“I received with great shock, the passing away of your patriarch whom I have always looked upon as my own father as well”, Governor Matawalle said.
“We have lost him at a time when his wisdom and continued advises are helping us in navigating the path of governance of our own people”, he further observed.
“My brother, please, accept, on behalf of myself, my family, the government and people of Zamfara State, our heartfelt condolences over this painful and irreparable loss”, Governor Matawalle added.
The deceased, Sheikh Haruna Tambuwal died in Tambuwal Town on Thursday at the age of 96. He was an astute Islamic scholar of repute and a widely respected elder who provided a rallying point for the community.
He was survived by many children, grand children and great grand children.
