Nigerian Army Kills Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP Chief Commander

Feelers from reliable civilian and military sources have indicated that the Nigerian Army has strike gold as leading Boko Haram/ISWAP Commander AKA Amir Imar, believed to be the Chief Commander of ISWAP fighting forces was killed in a fierce encounter with elements of Nigerian troops in Marte on Sunday. 

Amir Imar was the strategic brain behind the recently coordinated attacks by the terrorists who attacked Monguno, Gubio, Nganzai recently. 

Amir Imar was known to have close ties with JAS Boko Haram strongman Abubakar Shekau and often visited the leader in his stronghold at Sambisa Forest.

He also doubled as a Commanding Officer for ISWAP faction especially after both jihadists groups agreed to establish a coalition of convenience against the Nigeria Army and the MNJTF Lake Chad contributing troops. Imar had directed several attacks on the Nigerian military formations including attacks at Garunda, Metele and other strategic military locations in the shores of Lake Chad.

The most reliable commander in Chief of Boko Haram ISWAP is said to have died at Sabon Tumbus, after sustaining injuries resulting from a gunfight with the Nigerian troops in Marte.

In the standard modus operandi of BokoHaràm ISWAP the Amir will quickly be replaced by another trusted commander.

Soft target attacks and suicide attacks on military positions could follow due to the high position of Amir Imar. Extreme caution and vigilance is required in the coming days and weeks. See Something Say Something.
