In further boosting its developmental drive, some major roads within Tsaunin Kura Residential Area (Sabo GRA), Kaduna have been equipped with solar powered street lights.

Some of the solar installed lights captured fitted on electric poles

According to a statement signed by the Executive PRO of the community, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, the gesture which was made possible by a prominent resident of the community, is targetted at lighting up dark spots at night, to ward off criminal elements and hoodlums from molesting innocent residents and passers by.

The gesture which our correspondent learnt cost the donor hundreds of thousands of Naira, has now besides lighting up the area, added to its aesthetic beauty.

When our correspondent visited the donor, he explained that it was his own little contribution to infrastructural development of the area.

He appealed to other public spirited individuals within the community, to emulate same, to make the solar powered lights reach more streets.

Responding to the development, President General of the community, Comrade (Dr.) Silas Adamu described it as noble, worthy of commendation.

He said it takes someone with a large heart to support his or her community, while also calling on others to emulate the gesture.

Comrade Adamu explained that the community is blessed with several individuals who are their brothers keepers, a development that has translated in several self help projects sponsored by individuals.

“We are proud of individuals within us who have made sacrifices in terms of grading of roads, construction of drainages, electricity infrastructure and many other community support,” he said.

He prayed for God’s blessings on all those that have contributed in uplifting the community, while also praying for their finances to be replenished in hundred folds.

The President General assured that his led executives will leave no stone unturned in ensuring all round development of the community.
