A two-day Training On “Promoting Non-biased Media Coverage/reportage In Nigeria” has opened in Kaduna on Thursday July 16, 2020.
The training, organised by the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (Caritas Nigeria) in conjunction with Dialogue Reconciliation and Peace (DREP) Centre and Catholic Agency for Oversea Development (CAFOD) is featuring journalists from print, broadcast and online journalists’ from Plateau and Kaduna states.
It is part of carrying out a four year European Union (EU) sponsored project on promoting tolerance known as äction for Cultural and Religiuos Pluralism in Nigeria with specific focus on Kaduna and Plateau State (ZAMAN TARE)”.
The Project is aimed at stenghtening multicultural and religious tolerance in Nigeria and Niger Republic through various initiatives; one of which is the training of Journalists on Media Neutrality and Impatiality as well as conflict sensitive reportage.
After the training, it is expected that all participants would have increased knowledge on peace building.
Mr. Innocent Okechukwu Field Officer of Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (Caritas Nigeria) said that in Kaduna State, the four metropolitan local government areas are part of the project.
The training ends on Friday July 17.
