Group Calls On FG To Prosecute NDDC Looters



    A group under the aegis of Concerned Niger Delta Youths has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to set up a panel to investigate and persecute any criminals in NDDC.

    The group made this known on Thursday during a rally at Effurun Round-about, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

    The convener Israel Joe told newsmen during a rally in Effurun about the rot in the NDDC, insisting that “the president set a panel of Inquiry to investigate, arrest and probe everyone that has been indicted or involved in the NDDC scam.

    Joe decries, said that “the way Niger Delta leaders have turned the commission into an ATM with different password in forms of contracts and inflation of ghost projects. The group which gathered a large crowd also seek the intervention of foreign bodies in the forensic audit urging the federal government to ensure NASS members implicated are prosecuted”.

    Another Youth Kelvin Ejumudo who spoke to newsmen also stated that, “the careless spendings in the NDDC which has led to underdevelopment in both human and infrastructure. Ejumudo reiterated that health care, education and other sectors suffer because of the looting in the commission”.

    A young lady Ami also spoke to our correspondent dramatise her anger with Niger Delta leaders and warned that “if things are not rightly put in place, the youth may someday rebel against their leaders who have perpetually mortgaged their future.”
