Akoku Community Commends Ochor Over Effective Representation



    The member representing the Ukwuani State Constituency, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor has been commended for effective representation of the communities of Ukwuani in the Delta State House of Assembly.

    The commendation was made when the representatives of the Traditional Ruler of the Akoku Community paid the Deputy Speaker a thank you visit in his Umutu Constituency office on Friday, July 24, 2020.

    Commending the Deputy Speaker, the Okpala-Uku, represented by the Chairmen of the Akoku Development Union, Chief Ashibudike Otutu, said that the community is happy with Rt. Hon Ochor Ochor for ensuring that the community needs are met within the infrastructural and political development of the state.

    He stated that the community had been overwhelmed with the Deputy Speakers’ attention to the community, as their findings had revealed from different government offices, he had been paying attention to the Akoku Community, and prayed he should not be dissuaded in any way in his representation of the people of Ukwuani Local Government Area.

    “My Rt. Honourable, we have seen your good efforts in representing our people at the State House of Assembly. We were not surprised when we went to offices to submit documents in some government offices, and were told you had already sent input on our behalf, we commend you for this.”

    “This further confirms that when we chose you to represent us, we know we had not made any mistake.” He stated.

    In his reaction, the Deputy Speaker, and Member Representing the Ukwuani State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, thanked the Okpala-Uku, and the people of Akoku community for the commendation, and promised that he will continue to do his best as the representative of his constituency.

    He told them that must of his achievements as their representative, is due to their prayers and cooperation, and the understanding from the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

    “I have to tell you, my success for the first year as your representative, had been from community’s like Akoku who had always been supportive. With your commendation I promise to do more for you.”

    “However in doing more, we have to also commend the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his concerns for our people. He had been very supportive. And I have to commend him for that.”

    He promised that he will continue to push for the development of all communities in the local government through better legislative activities to ensure that Ukwuani is not shortchanged, in the affairs of the state. Pointing out that one of the areas he will be passionate to see that the constituency is not cheated is in the delineation of wards by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.

    OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor had condoled with the family of Sir Dele Omenogor, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on death of his wife, Dr. Lady Ngozi Ezinne Josephine Omenogor, who died last Thursday, July 23, 2020.

    In a condolence visit to his country home in Amai in Ukwuani Local Area, the Deputy Speaker stated that the death of Dr. Lady Josephine Omenogor was a big shock to him, as she was a very good and caring mother who always attends to him anytime he visits the family, , stating he is personally bereaved because of her death.

    While condoling with the family, he prayed God to grant them the strength to bear her absence.

    “News of her death was a big shock to me. She was good and caring woman who always attend to me, anytime I come visiting the family. I must tell you, I am also bereaved because of her death. It’s a women who has a caring heart, we will miss her.” He said.
