While expressing happiness with level of dedication of troops towards ending insecurity in the country, the Kaduna State Governor and his Niger State counterpart, Malam Nasir Elrufai and Abubakar Sani Bello respectively, have appealed for the deployment of more troops for total elimination of bandits.

The two Governors made the remarks when they officially visited the Army Special Super Camp 4 located in Faskari town, Faskari LGA of Katsina State to have a first hand information on the state and successes recorded by the Exercise Sahel Sanity.

The Governors commended the leadership and troops of the Nigerian Army for the relative peace and security been enjoyed in the areas which have given room for farmers to go back to their farms.

They said that if more troops are deployed, the dreaded bandits’ groups who terrorize the North West, southern Kaduna and Niger State in the North Central, will fizzle out for peace to thrive and socioeconomic development of the two regions.

They promised to continue to support the Nigerian Army within the limited resources available to mitigate the lingering insecurity occasioned by the activities of bandits, cattle rustling, kidnapping and other criminalities bedeviling the Northwest and Niger state in the North Central to restore peace in the two region.

The two Governors said, they were satisfied with the level of dedication and commitment of the troops in curbing banditry, kidnapping and other criminals activities in the two zones within the last one month, as peace is currently returning in the regions.

“We are totally behind the military with the level of their commitment under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Buratai for the success recorded since the beginning of exercise Sahel Sanity in the Northwest and Niger state in the North Central and we shall remain resolute to support the Nigerian Army to ensure peace is fully restored as quickly as possible”.
