Shamies Foundation Set To Bring Relief To Inmates Of Correctional Centres

    As part of events designed to mark the birthday of its founder and the its second anniversary as an organization, Shamies Foundation has revealed that it would be taking soccour to inmates of correctional facilities in nine states across the country.

    According to Shamies Foundation’s Director of Programmes, Mr.Shedrack Oka, the foundation would mark the birthday of the founder, Sarah Abdul by visiting correctional centres in Benue, Plateau, Sokoto, Lagos, Kebbi, Delta, FCT and Nasarawa states.

    Mr. Oka added that the foundation shall offset the payment of fines for inmates with minor charges, as well as feed the hungry and provide medicare for the less privileged.

    He also explained that the foundation would also partner with notable organizations and individuals to train inmates with basic skills via skills acquisition scheme and rentegrate them in to the society with the aim of making them to have a sustainable and honest means of living 

    Mr.Oka added that top actors in the entertainment industries such as Faze, Josh2Funny, MC Edo Pikin, Frodd and soccer star Ogenyi Onazi are amongst those that are billed to grace the occasion as well partner with Shamies Foundation .

    According to the Director of programmes, the theme of this year’s celebration is; “BREAKING CHAINS 2.0” and it is tailored after the ideals of Ms Sarah Abdul.

    It is pertinent to note that Shamies Foundation which is two years now is a non governmental organizationganization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and has been engaged in humanitarian services since then
