Chairperson of the Kaduna State Peace Commission (KAPECOM), Bishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon has called on Southern Kaduna and the entire state to take advantage of the respite of the presence of Special Forces to build ensuring peace.

He expressed this via teleconference while addressing members of the commission and the media during a quarterly meeting on Tuesday in Kaduna.

“History has taught humanity to know that one can best defend himself by learning to defend others.

“Work together as brothers and food neighbours for progress and peace for the moment and the future,” he said.

The Bishop said that the commission is committed to ensuring all trouble spots in the state return to peaceful coexistence.

He explained that several successes have been recorded so far, through community peace meeting, citing the one held in Atyap Chiefdom on August 22, 2020 as an example.

Speaking further, he commended Governor NASIR el-Rufai for his genuine commitment to ensuring peace in the state.

Fearon also commended the various international development partners that have been supporting the commission.

He said all stakeholders should moderate their voices and obey the laws of the state and work together for peace so that Kaduna can know peace and once again remain the “Centre of Learning”.
