Clash: Vigilante Shoots, Injures Suspected Cultist In Delta

    Vigilantes in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have shot and injured a suspected cultist simply identified as Morku during a rival cult clash.

    The incident occurred at lower Erejuwa between Ope and Old Welfare Street near Igbudu market in Warri on Thursday morning.

    The Vigilante promptly called the Police for back up and possible arrests of the suspect and others.

    However, before the arrival of Policemen at the scene, the injured suspect had been rushed from the area to unknown destination with gunshot wounds.

    Policemen traced him with his blood stains on the road but could not get him.

    It was learnt that blood flowed freely as the rival cult groups clashed on thusday  morning wounding themselves.

    The rival cult groups who used dangerous weapons including guns during the encounter, also maimed, injured and dispossessed residents of the area with their personal belonging.

    In a telephone chat with Our Correspondent, the Divisional Police Police Officer, “B” Division in Warri, CSP Benjamin Igometi said, “Am aware. We are tracing the destination. We have not been able to get him. We are tracing the blood stains to trace the area to the person but we have not been able to get him. We are on it.”

    Another Surcess said, “the suspects have been arrested, he was arrested along side with four other persons including two female while trying to treat themselves in Uvwie Local Government Area of the State.

    Some group of boys round them up when they discovered the that it was bullect wound they came to treat. They are now in at the Ekpan police station in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state”. Sources said.
