Cadets passing out of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) next Saturday have been charged to shun acts capable of tarnishing image of Armed Forces.
The Special Guest of Honour of the NDA Commandant’s Luncheon, Brigadier General Yakubu Mua’zu (rtd) stated this while speaking at the event on Saturday at the Academy House, Kaduna.
“You must shun any act that will tarnish the cherished image of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
“Your focus should be to dedicate yourself, you must try to build on initial training at NDA, so you can rise to the peak of your career,” he said.
He continued by admonishing them not to allow any distraction make them lose focus in the remaining seven days before their passing out.
“Don’t allow any incident or accident to take you off your dreams.
“You are about to be officers at a critical time of our history due to insurgency, banditry and other insecurity,” he told the cadets.
He told the cadets that their future lies in their own hands, hence they must work hard.
“Those who achieve progression in their careers do so through hard work,” he said.
“Let me congratulate the cadets for completing training at the NDA.
“As you are commissioned into the Armed Forces, be good ambassadors to your Alma Matter,” he said.
He said the sitting arrangement was deliberately done to make the cadets interact with guests at the luncheon and learn from them.
“I wish to congratulate the cadets for a successful five years. You have been able to survive the rigours if the training. But remember, you cannot celebrate yet until the next seven days.
“I wish you safe journey to your families after your presidential Commission.
“May God bless you all and continue to bless Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
