Bus Driver Cries Out For Help After Escaping Death In Delta

    A coaster bus driver, identified simply as Moses Palmer, has called for help after narrowly escaping death on Saturday morning, near PTI Junction in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State 
    The driver was seen crying when his Toyota coaster bus suddenly engulfed in flames.
    AUTHENTIC News Daily correspondent who visited the scene, saw the bus driver trying to pick out some metal tools that may still be useful from the totally razed vehicle.
    A source said that, “the bus driver  was the sole occupant of the 30-seater bus and was on his way to pick up persons who had chartered the vehicle.
    “His wife, children and other sympathisers who were at the scene gave gratitude to God that no life was lost during the unfortunate incident.”
    On his part,  the bus driver said that, “the smell of petrol made me to park my vehicle to find out the source of what was going on. But on attempt to open my gearbox, my bus burst into flames.
    “I was going to Airport Road to pick passengers when I started perceiving fuel odour. So I parked to check where it was coming from.
    “Several sympathisers made efforyt to put out the fire with extinguisher, but the fire raged on.
    “As I opened that place (points towards the drivers seat) the fire just started. 
    “I don’t even know how I escaped from the fire. The smoke was everywhere. 
    “People came with fire extinguisher, but they could not quench it, “the driver said. 
    “Please, Delta State and Federal Government should help me.  People should help me. Am also calling on well-meaning individuals to assist me, the bus was my only means of livelihood for my family, my wife’s shop was destroyed in Igbudu market fire that occurred in August.”
