Govt Approves Appointment Of Two New Monarchs In Delta

    The Delta State Government has approved the appointments of Ovie Whiskey and Johnson Ologho as the new Ovie (King) of Idjerhe and Odion of Emevor Kingdoms in Ethiope-West and Isoko North Local Government Areas respectively.
    The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles  Ehiedu Aniagwu made this known during an Exco briefing at Asaba.
    The approval of Ovie Whiskey, a Veteran Journalist new King of Idjerhe Kingdom is coming after a keenly contest between him and other candidates. 
    He was recently elected by the People of Idjerhe as their monarch after their demise of the late King two years ago.
    Mr. Aniagwu did not mention when “Staff of Office” will be presented to the new monarchs. 
    He however at the function also debunk the rumor that the total reconstruction of the pathological building and the upgrade of the clinical facilities of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, Oghara was being handled by a relative of the governor at a whooping sum.
    He said the two projects were being handled by two reputable firms to enable the hospital be at par with the ones in developed societies.
    On the flooding in parts of the State, Aniagwu reiterated that the State Government was not going to set up holding camps.
    He added that plans were on to mitigate the impact of the flood on citizens through the Ministry of Environment.
    Meanwhile, he expressed hope that the current economic climate cannot derail the ‘Stronger Delta Vision’ of Governor Okowa.
