Athletes from Plateau State came on strong as they emerged winners of make and female categories iofbthe ten kilometre component of the maiden three-in-one Kaduna Marathon
Fifteen year old Gyang David from Plateau State finished first in the make category in time of 31 minutes, 35 seconds.
The Indigene of VOM, who trains in his home town by his coach, Danjuma Fyang told newsmen on an interview after touching the finishing line that this is the first time he is competing in a marathon.
“This is the first time I am participating in a marathon and I thank God for helping me win and my coach, Danjuma Gyang for motivating me.
“My coach told me I should not be afraid of anything,” he said.
On where he sees himself in the next five years, he said that he hopes to be bearing the Kenyans at international outings.
“In next five years, I want to become an elite athlete and compete with he Kenyans,” he said.
In the female category, 12 years old Kandiya Solomon also from Plateau State finished first.
She said that in the next five years she hopes to see herself outside the country competing and winning.
