Osun United Football club has started reviewing the status of the old players, to help know the actual players that belong to the club.
According to the club’s vice President, Mr Vincent Akinbami, the previous management had done a good job, away from the practice they met in terms of the club having ownership of its players.
” My President, Chief Ademola Adeshina, Team Manager, Kabiru Adekunle and other board members, started a good job last season, but as a new member on board, we need to be on the same page to regularise it for a new season.
Like we all know, players contract are intangible assets and need to be valued in terms of figures and placed on the balance sheet of the club’s finàncial statement at the end of the year.
He said, gradually, the club will put up a good structure with the support of the governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, House Committee on Sports, Commissioner of Sports, Mr Yemi Lawal and the Special Adviser to the governor on sports, Alhaji Aremu Adelabu.
“Our mission is clear, run the club professionally, challenges will be met, but we will overcome.
“We are happy that the Nigeria National League (NNL) board and LMC through the demands of NFF and Ministry of Sports are beginning to make demands for things that will make our football clubs run professionally,” he said.
Akinbami assured that the new players will also be valued and be seen as assets to the club.
