The Boards of Directors of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company and their Kano counterparts on Monday paid a joint solidarity visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli where they pledged their unwavering commitment to energy security in their respective franchise.
The Chairman, Kaduna Electric Board, Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar, OON described the emergence of Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli as both historical and significant to the Zazzau Emirate and Kaduna State as a whole calling it the ”choice of the Almighty Allah”.
He announced that the Board of Kaduna Electric is currently working on a proposal to collaborate and work with the Emirate to ensure that the Company and the citizenry work together for the mutual benefit of both parties.
”We plan to set up committees at District and Wards level in the Emirate so that we can collaborate and have robust engagement constantly in order to find solutions to the lingering challenges hindering efficient service delivery”, he said.
The electricity boss therefore solicited the the support of the Emir while pledging the Company’s commitment to improved service delivery.
”We have no doubt in our mind that His Royal Highness is well equipped for the huge responsibility of leading the Zazzau Emirate to a greater and more prosperous level, we wish to solicit for the support of the Emirate in educating the people on the paradigm shift in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry from a government owned/run sector to a private sector driven industry”, he noted.
In his contribution, the Kano Electricity Distribution Company Board Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Aminu Dantata pledged to always put the Emirate and indeed all customers of the Company in the front burner.
He reaffirmed his allegiance, loyalty and solidarity to the Emir and conveyed the congratulatory and goodwill message of the patriarch of the Dantata family, his father, Alhaji Aminu Dantata to the Emir.
In his response, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli described Kaduna Electric as a strategic partner of the Emirate and extended the Emirate’s hand of fellowship to the Company.
He thanked the Boards of the two Companies for the support given to the Emirate before and during the coronation.
