Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have shot dead a mobile policeman at Jakpa Road, Uvwie Local Government’ Area of Delta State.
AUTHENTIC News Daily gathered that the incident occurred at about 2:30pm on Friday December 11, 2020.
Sources said that, “the police officer was killed in Effurun this afternoon, and his rifle was carted away by the hoodlums…
“The deceased (police officer) was detailed to an unidentified man who had stopped by a shop along the road to purchase some items.
“The hoodlums zoomed to the spot in a vehicle, shot him multiple times and waited untill he was dead before, driving away with his gun”.
When contacted for comments, the State Police Public Relations (PPRO) Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, but could not give details about the deceased officer.
She said, “yes, it is true. I don’t have any information but the truth is that a mobile policeman was killed along Jakpa Road. But his details, where he is attached to, I don’t have for now,” PPRO said.
