Insecurity: Setup security network for S’South region, Right Activist, Israel Joe urges leaders

A rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe has urged the leaders of the South South to set up a strong security network within the region to tackle insecurity.
Comrade Joe made the call in a statement made available to our correspondent in Warri.
He said this became  necessary since, “the North is ready with Meyeti Allah/Boko Haram, the South West is ready with Amotekun, and the South East is ready with Nnamdi Kanu’s Eastern Security Network.”
Comrade Joe noted that youths from the Northern,  South-West and South-East are fully armed and fortified for their regional defence.
According to him, “Only the South-South still wallows in ignorance and feels the Nigerian state can protect them.
“I want to thank the Delta state governor for creation of Operation Delta Hawk but an indigenous security outfit is immediately needed not just for Delta state but the entire South-South. As it is right now. Any region can overrun the South-South because we do not speak in one voice.

“The real deal is not security but the fact that every region fears the unknown and wishes to protect their region except the South-South that still feeds the entire nation.
“Our roads are not safe, our Sea ports are not working, Oil companies relocated to Abuja, our crude to be taken to Niger republic or Dangote refinery Lagos to be refined and brought back to us for higher sales yet no Niger-Delta youths would be employed in those places.
“The South-South governors need to see that a power game is building for 2023 and our exclusion is sure. God! Where are these people from? Can’t they see? We are behind the power game.”
