Oyo State Directorate, National Orientation Agency, headed by Mrs. Dolapo Dosunmu, has charged the residents of the state to avail themselves of the opportunity to register for their national identity number as a way of contributing to national planning.
This was expressed on December 22, at the state headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Ibadan.
Mrs. Dosunmu gave the charge on Tuesday when she paid on the spot assessment visit to the state’s headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, located at New Garage in Ibadan, the state capital.
The Oyo NOA director explained that from her assessment, the management of the NIMC is making efforts to make the registration process seamless and reduce the stress that Nigerians have been going through to get their NINs.
She, therefore, enjoined market men and women who are extremely busy with the festive trade, to create a time to perform their civic responsibility in the ongoing National Identity Number Registration.
Mrs. Dosunmu who maintained that the government is serious about the new deadline set for the registration enjoined all and sundry to do the needful before the expiration of the exercise.
“It would be recalled that the Nigeria communication commission had announced the 31st of December as the deadline for the sim users to link up their NIN code with their network providers”
However, the Federal Government, on Monday, extended the synchronization of SIM cards with the National Identity Number (NIN), to January and February 2021 for different categories of subscribers respectively.
